About the project

The Dunmore Solar Farm and Battery project is a hybrid renewable energy project comprising 300MW large‑scale solar generation integrated with a 150MW/300MWh battery energy storage system (BESS).

Project overview

The project is located near Dunmore in Queensland, within the Toowoomba Regional Council, approximately 250 km west of Brisbane.

The project received Development Approval in September 2024 and federal environmental approval in October 2025.

The project won’t require new transmission lines as it is ideally located on an existing high capacity 330kV transmission line and connection will be through a new on-site substation.

Location

The project is in the Dunmore area on predominantly flat, cleared agricultural land. The site has been historically used for grazing, with the site designed to allow ongoing agricultural use alongside the renewable energy development.
